When It Comes To Action…
Jason Statham is one of my favorite action stars.
I have been a fan since seeing him in “The Transporter.”
I have rarely been disappointed by his on screen performances.
This includes his new movie, “A Working Man.”
“A Working Man” follows Statham as his character looks to rescue a friend’s daughter from the clutches of a mob family.
Here is the trailer from the Amazon MGM Studios YT Channel.
I will quickly share my thoughts about the movie below.
“A Working Man” Review
This was an enjoyable movie for me.
If you are a fan of “The Beekeeper,” this will be right up your alley.
It feels like more of “The Beekeeper” story to more, with different characters.
The movie has good, paced action that Jason has become known for.
If you are looking for a movie with a deep story, this is not for you.
Most action movies are not known for deep stories.
The action, however, makes up for the lack of depth story wise.
“A Working Man” follows the familiar path of a military veteran settling down with his family until tragedy calls him into duty again.
One lament I have about the movie is that there are no memorable characters in the movie outside of Jason Statham’s character.
I think that reflects back to the lack of a deep story to attach to.
As I previously mentioned, the lack of story is made up for by consistent action scenes that drives the movie forward.
I definitely enjoyed the movie, and I recommend it to all Jason Statham fans.
To give you more incentive to see the movie, keep in mind that the movie’s screenplay was written by the legendary Sylvester Stallone.
Conclusion
“A Working Man” feels like a familiar yet enjoyable movie featuring Jason Statham.
I give it a 8.5 out of 10.
