The Worlds Are Colliding
When two things are colliding, it’s normally not good news.
But I am happy two worlds are colliding for me.
I thought that these two worlds of mine colliding would be a mistake.
I was in panic mode like my good friend, George Costanza.
Below is one of my favorite clips from Seinfeld from the Harold YT Channel.
That clip never gets old for me. LOL
The two worlds I am referring to are my Christian faith and my nerdy side.
It was like I had to choose.
And for a long time, I tried to hide both sides.
But…
The Truth Is…
God loves to see me happy when I am gaming.
God enjoys it when I watch Star Wars.
I don’t have to separate these two worlds.
I can be a Christian and keep my fandoms too!
I don’t know if you are a Christian and a nerd.
You don’t have to pick one or the other.
Let’s look at Romans 8: 39.
nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Nothing can separate me from the love of God.
That includes me playing MGS 2 or watching The Phantom Menace.
So, Why Am I Writing About This?
Let me be honest.
I have spent a lot of time in church.
There seems to be a lot of unspoken rules, like sticking to PG movies.
If I was to participate in something, it had to be “Christian.”
This meant no Dungeons and Dragons or Lord of the Rings.
The problem with that kind of logic is that most people feel restricted.
This means kids (and possibly adults) can’t fully be themselves in a church setting.
At least, that is how I feel.
Recently, I came across a channel called “Love Thy Nerd.”
I immediately dug into their content.
I’m hearing people that love the Marvel Cinematic Universe AND Paul’s message to the Corinthians.
Love Thy Nerd, as well as other content creators, gave me confidence that I can love God and express my nerdy side at that same time.
Seeing content creators that are Christian share their faith and their fandoms is part of the inspiration behind my content.
Conclusion
God loves me and you.
He loves those broken, weird parts of us, like the nerdy fandoms.
I created the blog and YouTube channel to share both sides of myself.
My goal with this content is to draw people like nerds closer to Christ and to share a lighter side with those who are already believers.
I hope this post inspires you to be your authentic self.
Real authenticity begins with being connected to God, the source of all things
God bless you and thank you for reading.
