Stick With What Works!

A Working Formula!

Sometimes, things fall into place.

You find a winning formula, a great stroke of genius.

The results you desire come forth.

A feeling of joy and happiness comes over you.

This reminds me of the first Batman movie.

The first Batman movie had everything going well.

A dark tone that is a reflection of the famous crimefighter and detective.

The movie was a hit.

And the second movie did well also.

This success of the first two Batman films paved the way for the litany of Marvel and DC success we see today.

Then Something Happened!

The next two films in the franchise went in a different direction.

Batman Forever was a colorful movie with over-the-top characters and other things out of character compared to the first two films.

Batman and Robin seemed to follow the same formula as Batman forever.

Both of these films were flops and too far of a departure in what made the original two films great.

Even though I enjoyed both Batman Forever and Batman & Robin for what they were worth, it still didn’t feel the same.

The latter two films went away from the winning formula of the original two films.

This made me think of life.

Sometimes we will leave the thing works for us.

We tend to fall for the next new, shiny, hot, trending habit or practice.

It is important for us to stick with what works for us.

Let me give you a practical example.

I know that taking care of my health is a something that works.

As a diabetic, I know that exercise and eating right is key to a healthier body.

But I tend to crave ice cream.

I know the sugar in ice cream is not healthy for me.

Instead of sticking what is right, I tend to follow what I want instead of what is right to do.

We have to stick with what we know will work for us.

Sometimes doing the right thing that works will take more time and attention to detail.

It will not always feel good.

But doing the right things the right way pays in compound interest.

This leads to abundance and a better quality of life.

Conclusion

The original two Batman films were great, finding a formula that works.

And the two films departed from the things that worked.

While it is important to innovate, we have to keep doing those things that ultimately lead to success.

Allow me to leave you with a Bible verse that brings this point home.

Galatians 6:9 (NASB) states that…

Let’s not become discouraged in doing good, for in due time we will reap, if we do not become weary.

The point is, don’t become discouraged in doing the right things.

Doing the right thing will pay off in the long run with exponential rewards.

I hope this blog post encourages you to keep on doing good.

God bless you.
