A Difficult Season
The people of Israel were going through a difficult time.
They turned their affections away from God.
Eventually, they found themselves in bondage in a foreign land.
As you imagine, the children of Isreal were dismayed and discouraged.
Can you relate?
You may not have been in captivity at the hands of the Babylonians.
But you have experienced some kind of setback or difficult situation.
If you are over 17 years of age, I think it is safe to say that you have experienced some sort of loss, difficult, or heartbreak.

Life will happen to us all.
Just like it happened to the children of Israel.
But even after the discouragement of being oppressed and seemingly forsaken, God offers His people hope.
God Offers Hope
God speaks through the prophet Jeremiah to the children of Israel.
This is the word that God offers to His people.
It is a familiar scripture of Jeremiah 29:11.
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
God offered His people hope!
And God offers us hope too!

Conclusion
This world offers us nothing but fear, frustration, and anxiety.
But God offers us a better way.
There is hope to be found in Christ.
I ask that you consider giving God a try if you are struggling right now.
Start with prayer and ask Jesus to come into your heart.
Prayer is simply a conversation with God, the one who loves you.
I hope this post encourages.
God bless.
