Gratitude and My First Comicon!

In All Things, Give Thanks!

This world can give us a lot to be sour about.

From inflation to political chaos, there always seems to be frustration at every turn.

If you’re like me, it is easy to get caught up in a web of worry and anxiety.

However, there is a cure for our worry.

The Bible offers us this cure.

The verse is coming from 1 Thessalonians 5:18.

in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

I know gratitude is not such a popular answer when life is going sideways.

Little do we realize that gratitude is the thing that will help us through difficult times as these.

Gratitude does a few things:

  • shifts our focus off of our problems
  • opens up opportunity for us to trust God
  • shrinks our problems down
  • keeps our hearts and minds from being overwhelmed

Gratitude is being thankful, no matter the circumstances.

A grateful heart allows us to gain the peace of God that is promised to us in the Holy Scriptures.

Being grateful doesn’t make our problems disappear.

However, it does maximize the power of God in our lives.

My First Comicon

On yesterday (as of the writing of the post) I attended my first Comicon.

The Power Comicon was held in my local area in South Carolina.

I CANNOT overstate how much fun it was!

There were comic books, cosplay, video games, and collectibles all over the place.

My heart was overwhelmed with gladness.

Here are a few of the highlights for me:

  • Feeling like a part of a community, seeing other nerds, geeks, fans, etc.
  • Seeing all kinds of creators like artists and authors in their element.
  • Seeing so many comic books and being exposed to new characters I have never heard of.
  • Enjoying the FREE PLAY video game room.

Power Comicon was a great experience for me on a personal level.

I’m excited about being able to go next year already.

I have watched content about comic and video game conventions.

It was so good to get to experience one for myself.

Below is a video from my channel sharing the items that I picked up from the Power Comicon.

Thank you for reading this and hope you enjoyed it.
