First, let me share what I drew this weekend.
Pen Drawing of Cyborg
As you know, I have been drawing a lot.
Normally, I play it safe and stick to pencil drawings.
I did step out of the comfort zone to draw with pen.
You see that in the video below, which is a drawing of Cyborg.
This drawing is of Cyborg from the DC Comics universe.
It turned out decently, not perfect.
Next, I want you to check out this awesome movie I saw this past weekend.
Justice League vs Fatal Five
The Justice League vs the Fatal Five was AWESOME!
In this movie, the Justice League takes on a team of 5 powerful foes from the future.
The Justice League gets help from a young Green Lantern and a hero from the future named Starboy.
Here are 3 of my favorite things from the movie:
- I’ve read about Mr. Terrific in comics and saw him in the recent Superman movie, but it was good to see him in action here. He is an amazing hero in his own right.
- The movie bridged the gap between the Justice League and the Legion of Superheroes of the future. That was cool to see.
- We get the chance to see some great action scenes from the Justice League.
If you are a fan of comic books, DC Comics in particular, I highly suggest this movie.
Next, I’ll share the new video game I started.
Point and Click Gaming!
One great thing about gaming today is the variety of video games out there to play.
From Indie developers to small game companies, there is no shortage of hidden gems out there.
“Brok the InvestiGator” is one of those hidden gems.
In this game, you take on the role of Brok, a detective who happens to be an alligator.
Brok is looking to find answers about what happened to his wife, possibly uncovering a bigger plot.
This is a point and click title mixed in with some RPG elements.
I’ve started playing this a few days ago.
The gameplay is unique to what I’m used to but it is exciting to try something new.
Even though I’m only a few hours into this game, I can easily recommend it to gamers.
Next, I’ll share what I’m reading.
Wolverine’s Dilemma!
Wolverine Number 4 June 14 is a wonderful comic book.
This story sees Wolverine dealing with his mortality.
Wolverine is dealing with a variety of emotions, leading to him leaving his fellow mutants.
He ends up joining a crime organization.
It is the Wolverine we all know and love.

The Fight Against Distraction
Videos less than 3 minutes lend itself to us having shorter attention spans.
I have gotten up in the trend myself.
Doom scrolling has been a struggle for me lately.
Over the past few weeks, I’ve found myself falling victim to the dopamine hits that short form content is known for.
This led me to ask myself a few questions…
“What am I distracting myself from?”
“Why does the distraction bring me comfort?”
“What else could I be accomplishing if I didn’t doom scroll?”
“What habits/hobbies can I used to replace the doom scrolling?”
We can’t allow ourselves to fall victim to the algorithms.
We can reclaim our attention spans.
But this has to be done intentionally.
We can’t leave it up to the social media platforms to do the right thing.
We are responsible for what we consume and how we consume.
This thought should empower us to do and be better.
