Welcome to November
It’s November.
This month marks the beginning of the holiday season.
Personally, this is one of my favorite times of the year.
I love the music, movies, food, and all that comes with the holidays.
Welcome to November!
I hope that this is a great month for you.
And welcome to the Monday Morning Nerd.
This is a weekly blog post where I share with you what I’m reading, watching, drawing, playing, followed by a word of encouragement.
Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy this blog post.
First, I will share what I’ve been playing.
Keeping It Retro…
I’ve kind of been all over the place as far as video games.
I haven’t seemed to have enough time to dig into the games I really want to.
So, I kept it short and retro.
I went old school, digging into both the NES and Gameboy libraries.
Here are a few of the games I’ve played throughout the week:
- Castlevania (NES)
- Double Dragon (NES)
- Mega Man (Gameboy)
- The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening (Gameboy)
I definitely want to revisit Link’s Awakening.
It looks to be just as fun as the other Zelda titles I’ve experienced.
One of my gaming disappointments was Double Dragon.
Not because this is a bad game, far from it.
But because it only has 3 lives with no continues.
That game can be a gauntlet to get through on only 3 lives.
But still, I love retro gaming.
Next, check out my weekly Saturday drawing.
Luffy of One Piece Drawing
I wanted to do something different this weekend with my drawing.
I normally stick to characters I’m familiar with.
Luffy is a character from One Piece.
I know of One Piece but have not watched it.
Check out the drawing below.
The drawing turned out pretty good.
Maybe I should have added color to it.
Next check out the awesome Batman movie I watched.
Batman: Mask of the Phantasm!
I’ve watched some great animated Batman movies of the past few months
The Batman movies make for great theatre because of Batman’s catalogue of villains and the mystery behind criminal activity in Gotham.
This movie is no exception to that.
Batman: Mask of the Phantasm follows the story of Batman being framed for the murders of crime bosses in Gotham.
This movie involves Bruce Wayne’s old flame and The Joker.
Anytime you get The Joker in a Batman story, it’s going to be epic.
Check out my mini review of the movie below.
Batman’s romantic interest in this story adds to the intrigue of the movie.
I definitely can suggest watching this movie.
It’s another terrific watch for comic book fans, especially Batman fans.
Let’s check out the comic book I’ve read below.
Superman vs Doomsday Again!
One of the greatest battles in all of comic books, in my opinion, is when Superman fought Doomsday.
That battle happened again this weekend for me.
I was able to read Superman Action Comics Vol 1: Path of Doom.
This comic book shows Superman fighting Doomsday again.
He does have some help in the form of Lex Luthor and Wonder Woman.
Check out my video below about my experience with this comic book.
The action was intense and the art is well done.
I’m glad to have read this one.
I definitely recommend this one.
Check out my word of encouragement below.
May Your Soul Prosper
Life can get crazy at times.
There is so much going on that it’s hard to have time to catch a breath.
The weekly hustle, family obligations, and other demands on our time can leave us drained.
Our souls can become weak, our thoughts clouded, and our bodies weary from the grind.
We know that God is with us all the way, during the good and the bad.
However, it is an encouragement to the soul to get some good news.
This reminded me of a Bible verse from 3 John 1: 2.
The verse from the New King James Version says…
Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.
We know that God is with us.
But we need to know that our hearts, minds, and bodies can prosper, along with God redeeming us from our sins.
It’s imperative to have a relationship with Jesus, believing in Him as Lord and Savior.
If you have not accepted Jesus as Lord, click HERE to repeat the sinner’s prayer.
When Jesus is Lord, I believe that part of the fruit of a surrendered life can be good things happening to and for us.
With that said, I pray that you get some good news this week.
May your bills be paid, checks come in the mail, your body be healed….whatever that good news for you is, I hope it happens.
