Happy Monday
Welcome to another Monday.
I’ve been dealing with a cold the past few days but I’m feeling a bit better.
I hope this is a great week for you.
Welcome to the Monday Morning Nerd.
This is a weekly blog post where I share with you what I’ve been reading, drawing, watching, followed by a word of encouragement.
I hope you enjoy the blog post.
Let’s first look at the amazing comic book I’ve read.
Killmonger: By Any Means Book
I did know Killmonger’s story from the Black Panther movie years ago.
But I’ve never read it in comic book form…
Until this past weekend.
I got the chance to read Killmonger: By Any Means.
This is a graphic novel of the backstory of Killmonger.
Erik Killmonger was born N’Jadaka and feels like he has claim to the throne of Wakanda.
This graphic novel covers a bit of that rise to him becoming Killmonger.
Killmonger: By Any Means is a well-drawn and written book.
This is a book about revenge, anger, and betrayal.
It is an excellent read, if you get access to this book.
Next, let’s talk about Ninja Gaiden for the NES.
Struggling Through Ninja Gaiden
There are few NES games more difficult than those in the Ninja Gaiden series.
I’ve never come close to beating any of these games.
But this weekend, I decided to give the original Ninja Gaiden a try.
Believe me when I tell you…THIS GAME IS HARD!
Respawning enemies, tricky platforming, and challenging boss battles make this game a tough one to conquer.
However, this a great game that every gamer should give a shot.
Ninja Gaiden for the NES is an action platformer with 6 challenging levels of gameplay.
Despite its difficulty, it is a fun game that keeps you coming back for more.
One of the things I remember most about this game is the cutscenes.
It’s one of the first games I remember with cutscenes that further the storyline.
I was able to get past level 4 as of this blog post.
Like I said, this game is tough…LOL.
Next, let’s talk about a movie I watched this weekend.
Superman: Brainaic Attacks!
Superman is my favorite superhero.
So, anytime I’m able to check out something from the big blue boy scout, I will.
This movie is Superman: Brainiac Attacks.
In this animated feature, Brainiac and Lex Luthor team up to take out Superman.
When Lois Lane gets critically injured from a beam intended for him, Superman has to race to find a cure to save her life.
Not the best Superman movie, but it is still enjoyable.
One of the most interesting things about this movie is Superman’s dilemma about revealing his real identity and feelings to Lois Lane.
We see Superman’s humanity here, which adds a nice touch to the movie.
You can watch this free on YouTube as of the writing of this post.
It is a good movie to check out.
Let’s check out my drawing.
Incredible Hulk Drawing
Like I mentioned earlier, I have been dealing with a cold the past few days.
So, this drawing is a simple one.
I draw a picture of the Incredible Hulk that I referenced from a coloring book.
Here it is below.
We know the Hulk as mild mannered scientist Bruce Banner who was exposed to gamma radiation.
Simple drawing…nothing too in depth.
But I wanted to be faithful and get a drawing up this weekend.
Here is a word of encouragement for you below.
Conclusion
There is a lot to be frustrated about.
When we look at gas prices, inflation, the political system, the world around us, there is a lot to be down about.
However, we have to live with a positive attitude.
We can’t live only by what we see.
We have to live with a positive mindset, despite what is happening around us.
Being positive and optimistic will require us to be intentional.
We have to consume positive content, surround ourselves with positive people, and live with a positive outlook.
Let us always seek to see life as it can be, instead of just going by what we see.
