Welcome To Monday!
Hello and welcome to another Monday.
I hope that you have had a great weekend and that this week is great to you also.
I’m still recovering from overtime hours at my job, as well as from a cold that seemed to linger longer than it should have.
But I’m almost back to normal. (whatever normal is for me…lol)
Welcome to a weekly blog post called the Monday Morning Nerd
This is where I share with you what I’ve been playing, watching, reading, drawing, followed by an encouraging word for your week.
So, hope you enjoy this blog post.
Let me first start with a movie I watched this weekend.
New to Batman Beyond
I’ve never seen anything related to Batman Beyond.
So, I was intrigued to see “Batman Beyond: The Return of The Joker” on YouTube.
I enjoyed this Batman Beyond movie.
This movie is about old Batman Bruce Wayne and new Batman Terry McGinnis teaming up to stop a threat from The Joker.
Even though it was different from what I’m used to, I definitely enjoyed this movie.
Check out my video about this movie below.
I enjoyed this movie and the Batman Beyond Batman.
Let me share below the classic comic book I read.
Classic Iron Man Comic
One of the great things about comic books is the variety of characters and stories to explore.
There are new and old comic books to satisfy any fan out there.
This weekend, I was able to read a classic Iron Man comic book.
The comic book was a reprint from a 1972 Iron Man issue.
Check out my video about this comic below.
Not only is this a cool read, but it is an introduction to Thanos.
I found that a bit exciting.
This comic book sees Iron Man and Drax take on Thanos.
Really terrific comic book read.
Next, check out my recent Saturday drawing.
Drawing of The Joker
This is my Saturday morning drawing series I have done for the past year or so.
It is a series where I draw a comic book, cartoon, or video game character.
This week’s character is The Joker.
The Joker is, perhaps, one of the greatest villains in all of comic books and even pop culture.
I referenced this drawing from a book of DC Comics characters.
Check out the drawing below.
The Saturday drawing is one of those things I most look forward to.
Next, I will tell you what I’ve been playing.
Going Old School Gaming
If you are a working adult, it’s hard to get time in during the week to play a game.
Also, I have been sick with a cold the past few days.
That has decreased my gaming time significantly.
So, I have been going old school with games I’ve been playing.
I have been diving into the libraries of the Classic Gameboy, Sega Master System, Sega Genesis, and NES.
In particular, I’ve been into this game on Sega Master System called “Shining Force 2.”
This is a turned based, tactical RPG with an immersive story.
It is time consuming and hopefully I will get the chance to finish it out.
I’ve mostly enjoyed the Gameboy.

It’s the perfect gaming experience for an older gamer like myself.
The games are shorter than the average NES game, meaning that you are likely to finish a game quicker.
And the Gameboy has a deep library that meets the needs of most gamers out there.
So, that has been my gaming experience as of late.
Finally, check out this encouraging message to help you through your week.
Bet On Yourself
Sometimes, we don’t take chances on ourselves.
We often believe that we are too old to find a new hobby or develop a new skill.
Our well-meaning family members and friends may tell us to play it safe.
Doubt, unbelief, and insecurity creeps in as we try to do something new.
However, this is the week to take that shot.
Bet on yourself.
Be willing to go for something you believe in doing.
Apply for that job.
Learn that new skill.
Go to the craft store and find out about that new hobby that interests you.
Take that course that can help increase your knowledge and pay.
We can’t be afraid to bet on ourselves.
We can’t allow those gifts God placed inside of us to die.
Let’s take a small piece of action to achieving a goal or pursing a dream.
I hope this encourages you.
