This is a blog post where I share what I’ve been reading, drawing, watching, followed by a word of encouragement for your week.
First, allow me to share what I drew this week for the channel.
Drawing of Frozone
This is a drawing of Frozone, from “The Incredibles” franchise.
It turned out decently.
I should have added color to make this pop of a bit more.
But even still, it turned out well.
I really enjoy doing these drawings.
It is something I look forward to every weekend.
I hope that you all can appreciate my artwork and that you enjoy them as well.
Next, let me share the great graphic novel I read.
Batman: Vol 4 Zero Year Is Awesome
I could NOT stop reading this graphic novel.
This is Batman: Vol 4 Zero Year – Secret City.
The story is a fresh take on the origin story of Batman.
We see how Bruce Wayne came up with the idea of becoming a crime fighter.
This is just as much of a Bruce Wayne story as it is a Batman story.
The writing was terrific and the art very well done.
I only got this book a two days ago and have already finished it.
It makes for an amazing read.
So, if you have the chance to read this, I HIGHLY recommend it.
Next, let’s check out the Batman movie I saw this weekend.
Batman: Year One Is Terrific
Here is another Batman origin story.
This time in movie form…
The name of this one is Batman: Year One.
Again, we see at the backstory of the rise of Batman.
We also see Jim Gordon’s rise to captain of Gotham PD.
The movie is very well done and is worth watching.
Batman: Year One is a great take on the stories of Jim Gordon and Bruce Wayne.
Next, let me share a word of encouragement with you.
See What the End Looks Like
It’s easy to focus on the outcome instead of the journey.
When I started my art journey, I wanted to make sure to enjoy the journey.
But I fell into the comparison trap.
I look at others and compare where I’m not to them.
It is a hard battle to fight.
However, I do enjoy growing and getting better.
I try to focus on enjoying drawing, instead of just thinking about a particular result.
I may not make money from my art, writing, or any gift.
But I have to see how far I can go with drawing and creating.
That is how life works.
Whenever we are doing something, going through something, or trying to achieve something, it’s easy to just focus on what is happening.
However, we need to step back and enjoy the journey.
There is something good coming out of the journey, regardless of what it can feel like.
