Every great hero needs an equally great villain.

This villain should keep the hero alert, on his toes at all times.

It is safe to say that Batman has one of the greatest villains in all of comic books.

The Joker is the greatest villain possibly in all of entertainment history.

We celebrate The Joker today.

It is the anniversary of his first appearance in the Batman comic. (as of the making of this blog post.)

He is absolutely an amazing villain, a devious criminal.

In my opinion, if the Joker wasn’t such a great criminal, Batman wouldn’t be the great crime fighter he is.

The Joker’s History

The Joker, whose real name is unknown, was a criminal called the “Red Hood.”

Upon being chased Batman, he fell into a container of acid.

This left him disfigured.

It seems that he permanently seeks revenge on Batman.

He has been featured in comics, movies, and is ever present in pop culture.

Below is my drawing of The Joker.

Conclusion

As we celebrate the anniversary of The Joker’s first appearance in the Batman comics, I will share why he is such a great villain.

For example, let’s say that The Joker has a pistol pointed at Batman.

The pistol could have acid or poison.

That pistol could be a real gun, with real bullets.

The pistol could be a toy water gun.

The pistol even could a joke pistol, with a flag coming out of it that says “Bang.”

That unpredictable nature of The Joker is what makes him amazing, in my opinion.
