It’s Sonic the Hedgehog’s Birthday!

Sonic “Blue” Me Away!

Let me take you back into time.

This was the early 90’s.

Nintendo was king of the video game industry.

However, there was competition on the horizon.

That competition was the Sega Genesis.

Anyone who is competitive knows you need some kind of advantage.

That advantage for Sega came in the form of Sonic the Hedgehog.

On the day of this blog post, 35 years ago, (June 23) we first saw the Sonic the Hedgehog game.

Sonic was fast and fresh.

Nintendo’s primary mascot, Mario, seemed to be slow and outdated.

I went out of my mind playing Sonic the Hedgehog for the first time.

I was impressed by the color of the graphics and the pace at which Sonic moved.

The gameplay was unique, something I had never experienced.

Here is some gameplay of the Green Hill Zone from my YouTube channel.

Maybe you are like me.

This game “blue” you away. (maybe a bad joke…LOL)

Sega Genesis made you stop your NES worship with this title.

I’m so glad the franchise is going strong so other generations of folks can experience what Sonic has to offer.

Feel free to share your memories with me in the comments.

Thank you so much for checking out this blog post.

God bless you and know that God loves you.
